An investigation on the performance and emission studies on diesel engine by addition of nanoparticles and antioxidants as additives in biodiesel blends

Abstract The study aims to examine the effects of palm biodiesel blended with additives in compression ignition (CI) engine. Biodiesel as fuel was limited by challenges such lower calorific value (CV) and higher viscosity while increasing brake specific consumption (BSFC) nitrogen oxides (NO x ) emissions. Nanoparticles antioxidant added play an essential role avoiding hindrances biodiesel. antioxidants combined reduced NO emissions eliminating decomposing peroxides, free radicals, preventing radicals' chain reaction. Significant characteristics nanoparticles are high CV, thermal conductivity, surface volume ratio. These used improve CI engine's performance using Five different test blends Diesel, B20, B20TO, B20AO, B20AOTO were prepared. result showed efficiency (BTHE) decreased BSFC, exhaust gas temperature (EGT), hydrocarbons (HC), , HC blend contrasted other blends.
